On Thursday, May 16th, Luke and I were invited to attend an NBA playoff game between the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs. We had an incredible time, but it's too bad that it had to be the final Warriors game for the year.
It started with an email to Alicia Jay Smith (Manager of Basketball Operation for the Warriors), explaining Luke's love for basketball and his upcoming surgery and recovery. She responded back with her admiration for Luke's inspirational example, along with the invitation to be her guest at the game Thursday night.
Once we arrived at Oracle Arena, we were escorted down to the floor where we met Alicia in person.
Alicia surprised Luke with a Warriors basketball signed by Andrew Bogut (#12) and a Warriors hat signed by Harrison Barnes (#40). We were then given the opportunity to stay courtside when the players came out to warm up.
The view from our seats where the action was loud and clear!
A great end to a great night!

| What you can't see is that Luke is standing on a higher step than Alicia is in this picture. |
Thank you again to Alicia for giving Luke the night of his life. It was a well needed distraction to the stress of his heart surgery that was just a week away.
